Troubleshooting

Common issues and how to resolve them.

Store not detected

Symptom: The Style View, Fit View, or Affinity buttons stay disabled on a supported store.

Causes:

  • You may still be on the homepage or a non-product page. Navigate to a specific product page for product-dependent features.
  • The page may not have fully loaded. Wait a moment and try again — Glimmer debounces platform detection to avoid flickering during navigation.
  • Some stores use custom domains or unusual configurations that may not be detected.

Fix: Try refreshing the page or navigating directly to a product URL. If the store is Shopify-based, navigating to any product page should trigger detection.

Credits not appearing after purchase

Symptom: You completed a Stripe checkout but your credit balance hasn't updated.

Cause: There's a short delay between payment processing and credit delivery. Glimmer polls for your updated balance automatically for up to 60 seconds.

Fix: Wait up to a minute. If credits still don't appear, try:

  1. Click the credit balance in the toolbar to refresh
  2. Sign out and sign back in
  3. If the issue persists, check your email for the Stripe receipt confirming payment

Sign-in code not arriving

Symptom: You entered your email but didn't receive the one-time code.

Fix:

  1. Check your spam or junk folder
  2. Verify you entered the correct email address
  3. Request a new code — previous ones expire quickly
  4. Try a different email provider if the issue persists

Anti-bot pages

Symptom: A store shows a CAPTCHA, "access denied," or bot detection page.

Cause: Some retailers have aggressive bot detection that may flag Glimmer's embedded browser.

Fix: Complete the CAPTCHA if one appears — Glimmer's browser supports interaction with these pages. In most cases, passing the check once allows normal browsing for the rest of your session.

Try-on generation fails

Symptom: The try-on loading spinner runs but no result appears, or you see an error.

Causes:

  • Insufficient credits (requires 2)
  • The uploaded photo couldn't be processed
  • Temporary server issues

Fix:

  1. Check your credit balance
  2. Try a different photo (see photo tips)
  3. Try again after a few minutes

Style Brief says "not enough data"

Symptom: You can't generate a Style Brief despite having snapshots.

Cause: Glimmer needs at least 10 snapshots to generate meaningful insights. Below that threshold, the Style Graph is too sparse.

Fix: Capture more snapshots across different products and brands. The drawer shows your progress toward the 10-snapshot threshold.

App feels slow or unresponsive

Fix:

  1. Close unused tabs — each tab maintains its own browser session
  2. Restart Glimmer
  3. Check for app updates (update icon in toolbar)
